The Kardia Remark

“Awake, O north wind, And come, O south!”

In the beginning…

Well, here goes – the initiation of my second blog. The Kardia Remark has been born, a journal of my thoughts, views, and sharable aspects of my life.

This follows the tragic, yet inevitable, run out of passion and consistency in updating my last blog, Mandatory Minimums. Soon, I’ll delete it.

On another note, I thought I’d give a brief explanation of the meaning behind the name.

Some scholarly readers might have noted that kardia is an Ancient Greek word for ‘heart’. I use it to mean the core, centre, and crux of a person’s being, not the fluffy feminine image that Western culture has given it.

It also derives from the name of a Star Wars character that brilliant author Timothy Zahn created for the Thrawn Trilogy – Talon Karrde. I’m a bit of a Star Wars nerd, but for the sake of civilization here on this blog, I’ll try to keep my expressions of that to a minimum.

The word remark, as I use it, has a simpler meaning. I use it as a substitute for the more overused word journal. After choosing it, I realized it also has a connection to comedy TV series Seinfeld via ‘The Pony Remark’, but although I do watch it every few months, I’m less of a fan of it than other family members. ;)

Basically, The Kardia Remark will be about the things I really believe, the issues I am passionate about, the character of my life. I’ll try to make it less self-centric and more God-centric, but please forgive any deviations from that.

So, um…. “watch this space”, I guess… or “stay tuned”… whichever you prefer.
